Geotechnical Engineer

James McGrath is a highly skilled engineer with extensive expertise in geotechnical investigation and design. He adeptly manages geotechnical-led projects, coordinating with clients, contractors, and local authorities to deliver successful outcomes.

James specialises in the design of reinforced earth slopes and gabion walls, and is proficient in producing a range of critical reports, including interpretive geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports, Earthworks Specifications (EWS), Remediation Strategies (RMS), Material Management Plans (MMP), and Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRA).

His skills extend to forensic investigations, slope stability reports, and waste assessments. Experienced in site investigations per BS5930 and EN 1997 (EC7), James utilises techniques such as rotary core, dynamic sample, cable percussive boreholes, trial pitting, and various monitoring methods for gas, groundwater, and water quality. His comprehensive knowledge ensures precise and effective project delivery.
