Revised plans for the development of the McArthur’s Warehouse site on Gas Ferry Road in Bristol are being considered by Bristol City Council following a public consultation. The site has been vacant for more than 20 years and is one of the last remaining development plots surrounding Bristol’s Floating Harbour.
Clarkebond has provided pre-planning services on the MacArthur’s Warehouse site, including geotechnical and contamination remediation advice, condition surveys of existing buildings, flood risk assessment, structural, civil and drainage options.
The Guinness Partnership, one of the largest providers of homes for affordable rent and sale throughout England, is proposing to develop the site for a mix of use including up to 150 apartments and circa 1500 sq m of commercial space.
The development is likely to comprise six storeys of apartments over ground floor offices and car parking and will include a podium with a ‘green deck’ over the car parking area.
Clarkebond will be developing the engineering aspects of the scheme for the full planning submission.
