Clarkebond was appointed to provide tender and construction stage project management to a residential development that formed a ‘signature gateway’ to TDIC’s (Tourism Development & Investment Company) 2,700 hectare Saadiyat Island project.
The development features 6 apartment blocks comprising basement, ground plus four upper floors with a total of 495 apartments, a community facility building and other associated facilities situated within a secure gated community with a pedestrian-friendly environment to support the leisure-oriented lifestyle of the Saadiyat Beach district.
Delivered on site over a two-year construction period through separate Enabling Works and Main Works contracts, a traditional reinforced concrete frame was be constructed on piled foundations. The apartments were finished in two grades (Standard and Mid-Range) and two architectural styles (Arabesque and Mediterranean).
Clarkebond had a team of seven staff based full-time on site working in collaboration with the contractor, lead consultant (and Resident Engineer) and cost consultant. Constant emphasis was placed on environmental, health and safety, time and cost issues in addition to the high standard of quality required of such a high profile project.
