Puppet Place, Bristol

Puppet Place is a vibrant and dynamic hub for all things puppetry, fostering a deep appreciation and celebration of this unique art form. Located at its charming home in the heart of the city, Puppet Place serves as a creative haven for puppeteers, puppet makers, and puppet enthusiasts alike.

Last week, one of our structural engineers, Vicky Karavatsi, had the incredible opportunity to perform a structural inspection on this captivating/neighbouring 1800s building – a historic dock warehouse with a rich architectural heritage.

It was very interesting to discover this hidden gem while assessing the condition of its timber trusses. The main objective of the inspection was to evaluate the current state of the building, with a particular focus on the condition of its historic timber trusses.

Our findings unveiled intriguing insights into the buildings history. We identified areas where minor repairs or preservation efforts would be essential to ensure the continued stability and longevity of this historic building.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this project and look forward to continuing our work in the field of structural inspections, playing a role in the conservation of our architectural heritage.

Puppet Place is opening its doors on the weekend of the Bristol Harbour Festival from Saturday 15th to Sunday 16th July 2023, please check it out if you’re in the area.
